Hello, I Am SO Happy You are Here!

I am April D'Aguilar, a certified healthcare professional, yoga & meditation instructor and founder of Wyld Chyld Yoga: A Mobile Wellness Studio.

My vision for Wyld Chyld Yoga is born from recognizing the urgent need to address healthcare and death and dying care disparities affecting chronically stressed communities worldwide.

My mission is to offer a holistic approach that combines mindful movement, restorative yoga, breathwork, and meditation. Practices are designed to complement any necessary medical or mental health interventions you are already receiving.

At the core of my practice is the belief in honoring each person's collective experience, to heal the whole human, and by extension, the families and communities in which they live.

My Story

Experience & Expertise

With over 10 years of experience as a healthcare worker, I bring deep understanding to the health disparities and needs of diverse communities. Most recently, I served on the Emergency COVID-19 Response Team at facilities assisting homeless, mentally ill, and indigent populations through LA County via Project Home Key.

As a trauma-centered yoga instructor and rest therapist, I previously taught at TheTreeSouthLA.org (now The Tree Yoga Cooperative), one of the few nonprofit yoga studios serving South Central Los Angeles. I've also guided practices for Project 180 Redirection/ReEntry Program and Fields Family Services in Altadena.

The pandemic revealed the critical need for accessible wellness offerings, inspiring me to transition Wyld Chyld Yoga to provide services that reach people wherever they are. Today, I specialize in:

- Private 1:1 Yoga and Rest Sessions for Individuals

- Corporate & Businesses Wellness Programs

- Retreats, Festivals and Events

- Foundational Yoga and Gentle Movement

- Yoga Nidra and Rest Nesting

- Facilitating compassionate self-inquiry, somatic integration and breathwork practices

- Leading both in-person, and online

- Deathcare and End of Life Care and Planning

Community Roots & Impact

My heart has always belonged to South Central Los Angeles. Before founding Wyld Chyld Yoga, I operated a small LGBTQIA-centered travel and retreat business. While serving as office manager for Peace4kids, a nonprofit in Watts, CA for five years,  I co-created the Love ME Now Program for young women and men in foster and kinship care, focusing on the unique needs of youth ages 11 to 17, this  program continues today.

My community work extends to The Children's Collective Inc., where I helped open The Rita Walter's Child Care Center and Learning Complex as part of the management team.

Every role I've held has centered around healing and justice in my community. From summers in Alabama to college in Louisiana, I've never strayed far from my roots. My deepest purpose is to heal the hearts of those who need it by providing space for deep rest to overstimulated, under cared for bodies.

My Promise

Every offering comes from a place of authentic care and commitment to Rest for all. I believe in making healing practices accessible to communities often overlooked by traditional wellness spaces.

"Always From The Heart"

Lineage, Trainings & Certifications

My yoga journey began at home in 2012 with Adrienne Reed Power Yoga and Mai Lei on PBS. Those early practices opened the door to something much deeper—a call to healing, rest, and remembrance.

After many attempts to find a studio that felt right, I discovered The Tree Yoga Studio in South Los Angeles. From the very first class, The Tree felt like home. It was there that my foundation was built and where I completed my initial Yoga Teacher Training under Raja Michelle in 2017.

During my training, Tracee Stanley visited and introduced me to the profound practice of Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga. I have been studying and learning under her guidance since 2018, continuing to explore the pathways of rest, liberation, and inner awareness.

My lineage is rooted in the traditions of the Himalayan masters, Vedanta, Buddhist, and Tantra teachings. My work is an integration of Yoga and Ayurveda, grounded in cultural competency, social justice, education, and advocacy.
